Our History
The Downtown Little School grew out of Pace Little School, the laboratory school for the School of Education at Pace University, founded in the early 1970s. Kate Delacorte became Pace Little School’s director in 1989. In 1999, Kate and codirector Adrian Hood opened the expanded Downtown Little School at 15 Dutch Street. The new school was able to serve more families and a wider age range without losing its intimate, family oriented feel. The school now serves over 80 families of children ages 2-5. |

“ From the loving teachers, to the smart, sensitive curriculum and teaching styles, you created the kind of pre-school environment I dreamed of... I will forever feel good about choosing The Downtown Little School for [my child], and thank you from the bottom of my heart.” |
